Elections bombard not only potential voters with information about the competing candidates, but also our students. We have developed more new resources to help students use the power of visual learning to help them better compare the candidates and their positions on the issues to decide who would be the best choice. There is a new Inspiration template to help students compare any two contemporary or historical political candidates, such as those running for president. It contains areas for students to compare the candidates' campaign strategies and themes, their views on important issues, and their backgrounds, political obstacles and achievements. Students are also asked to conclude the activity with an overall analysis of the candidates.
We have posted a short video with more ideas for how to use it with your students. There is also a simplified Kidspiration activity and video to use with elementary students. Both activities engage students in research and writing, and help them build critical thinking skills.
If you don't have Inspiration or the new Kidspiration 3 yet, you can download free 30-day trials

Hi there-
Are you running an earlier version of Inspiration? If so, I just added templates in version 7 to the postings. If that doesn't work, please let me know!

I've downloaded (multiple times) both the comparing presidential candidates and the obama/mccain comparison template and get either an "error 6" or "error 3" message when attempting to open the files. I've tried double-clicking the icons to open and the "open template" command from the "file" menu. I get the same errors no matter how I attempt to open/use the templates.
Any suggestions?
