Getting to Know the Candidates: Chronologies of McCain and Obama

During an election year, our students are bombarded with information—both positive and negative—about the leading candidates, and it can lead to much confusion and many questions. I remember when I was teaching high school social studies during the 2004 presidential election, and many students really wanted to know what I thought about George Bush and John Kerry and if I believed this or that criticism of them. Instead of answering them directly, I tried to ask my own questions to get them thinking critically about the candidates and their positions on the issues. This year I wanted to develop resources that would help with that challenging process, so I've been posting activities such as a new Inspiration® activity: .Quest for the White House 2008: McCain and Obama. It can be downloaded free like all the other resources which can be accessed by searching with the keyword "election."

Enjoy the exciting election season and let me know how it goes!
